Job Opportunities

All our ESL teaching is carried out and staffed by the University of the Sunshine Coast English Language Centre. The range of jobs we offer include activity assistants and activity leaders.

Activity Assistants

Activity assistants should possess an ability to operate as part of a team, have well developed interpersonal skills, basic first aid knowledge / qualifications and an interest in working with youth.

Activity Leaders

Activity Leaders should additionally have a solid understanding and experience with group facilitation / development within an outdoor recreation setting or equivalent.

Youth Ambassadors

Every year we receive many more interested applicants than limited positions for our program. Since last year we have been looking at ways to accommodate more kids and more staff and we have put together a new opportunity called the Youth Ambassador program. We will be taking applications for Youth Ambassadors to recruit, organise and escort kids from their local area or country to camp. In return, our program will offer Youth Ambassadors accommodation, food, training and a flight rebate up to $1000AUD. Although Ambassadors will not be employees, they can participate alongside activity assistants and leaders in our programs in an escort role and get to experience all facets of the camp life. Please ask us for an application if you believe you could organise a group and would like to apply.

Additional Information:

The activity positions are of a residential nature and include meals and accommodation. The summer positions will run for 6 weeks during the summer months July and August. We start considering applications in April and offers are usually finalised in June.

If you are not an Australian citizen you are required to have a visa to work in Australia and we would advise you to contact the nearest Australian embassy to explore visas and immigration requirements to enter Australia for work.

Also, we advise you to visit the following site about the 'the working with children check' which is mandatory state requirement to help ensure that people seeking to work with children are suitable for our program. www.childcomm.qld.gov.au/criminal/criminal_new.htm
